In Surgut, employees of a kindergarten are suspected of fraud for 80 million rubles


Employees of a kindergarten in Surgut are suspected of embezzling 80 million rubles through a scheme with false data on the number of children. This was reported on November 27 by the press service of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation in the Tyumen region.
According to the agency, the illegal activities of the director, head and five employees of the pre-school educational institution were suppressed. According to the investigation, the suspects provided false information about the number of children attending the kindergarten from 2020 to 2024, while exaggerating their number. In this way, they received subsidies from the Department of Education of the Surgut administration within the framework of the national project "Demography".
In addition, five employees were fictitiously employed in the kindergarten and their salaries were credited to their names. The illegally obtained money was spent by the attackers for personal needs.
A criminal case under part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of Russia ("Fraud, committed by an organized group on a large scale") was initiated against seven defendants, the suspects face up to 10 years of imprisonment for these crimes.
Earlier, on November 25, the Prosecutor's Office of Khabarovsk Krai opened a criminal case on the fact of embezzlement of funds of the national project "Demography" in Khabarovsk in the amount of almost 1 million rubles. The accused girl in September 2021 provided the state institution with documents with knowingly false information that she had two children. The girl received payments for three years, their amount amount amounted to Br930 thousand. The results of the checks revealed a violation under Part 3, Article 159.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud in receiving payments").
