IT expert points to the relevance of cybersecurity specialties

Although the IT labor market environment is constantly changing - the demand for staff always dictates the market and its needs. One of the areas that will need employees in 2025 is cybersecurity. Kirill Mokevnin, co-founder of online programming school Hexlet, said on November 27.

"Isolated data storage systems are being replaced by cloud technologies, in addition, the popularity of remote work format is growing. Leaks are becoming more frequent, and the number of cyber threats is increasing, so security systems need constant modernization. In order to exclude access to valuable corporate information, companies will attract more and more cybersecurity specialists," Mokevnin said in a conversation with Gazeta.Ru.

The need for artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning specialists will not lose popularity. Digitalization of business leads to the fact that the amount of data that needs to be processed exceeds human capabilities. In such conditions, AI is indispensable. It takes over most of the operational tasks and processes information efficiently, relieving employees of routine work.

According to the expert, artificial intelligence has already become widespread, but many companies are implementing it in their work processes only now. And although such solutions are aimed at automation, they still need constant training and support, and this falls on the shoulders of AI specialists.

Mokevnin also noted that blockchain technologies are coming to the forefront. This trend can be traced even at the state level: there are legislative initiatives from various agencies designed to regulate this sector of the economy, which is still quite "shadow".

"In addition, the use of blockchain is far from being limited to cryptocurrencies alone, this technology offers many useful tools, such as smart contracts or the opportunity for startups to enter the ICO," the specialist said. In his opinion, many companies are also actively applying blockchain in logistics and the financial industry.

Mokevnin pointed out the importance of understanding that companies will continue to hire specialists with Middle and Senior level experience, despite the increase in staffing in narrow areas.

"In this situation, the most correct solution will be to choose practice-oriented training with a lot of training or even small commercial projects. This approach will allow you to present examples of real work to a potential employer, which will significantly increase the chances of receiving a cherished offer," Mokevnin summarized.

Earlier, on November 16, Central University together with the participants of the Alliance in Artificial Intelligence - T-Bank, Sber and VK - launched a free program to prepare high school students for participation in the International Olympiad on Artificial Intelligence, which will be held in August 2025 in China. This was announced by representatives of Central University at the awarding ceremony for the winners of the All-Russian AI Olympiad.
