President-elect Donald Trump has nominated businessman John Phelan to be the nominee for Secretary of the U.S. Navy (Navy). He announced this on his Truth Social network on November 26.

"I am honored to announce John Phelan as our next Secretary of the U.S. Navy! John will be a tremendous force for our Navy members and a steadfast leader in advancing my vision of 'America First,'" Trump said.

The president-elect said Phelan has excelled in every endeavor and is "a true champion of American entrepreneurship and ingenuity."

"John's intelligence and leadership skills are second to none. John has an MBA from Harvard Business School and is truly a brilliant guy! His incredible knowledge and experience will lift up the lives of the brave Americans who serve our country," he concluded.

Bloomberg on Nov. 27 announced the Trump team's plans to announce Jamison Greer as the U.S. Trade Representative. In addition, the agency recalled that Greer was directly involved in Trump's first-term trade policy decisions, including high duties for China.

On this day, Bloomberg reported on the possible appointment of Kevin Hassett as head of the White House National Economic Council. The agency noted that under Trump, the official supported the policy of imposing additional customs tariffs.

Prior to that, on November 23, Trump proposed the candidacy of former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi for the post of US Justice Secretary. The president-elect also noted Bondi's work to stop drug trafficking and reduce the number of drug-related deaths.

On Nov. 20, Trump nominated former acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker to be the U.S. permanent representative to NATO. He called Whitaker a strong warrior and dedicated patriot and said he would "put America first."

At the time, Trump also proposed nominating Linda McMahon, who led the U.S. Small Business Administration during Trump's first term in office, as the nation's Secretary of Education. McMahon could have headed the U.S. Department of Commerce, but investor and billionaire Howard Lutnick was nominated for the post.

The election for the 47th president of the United States took place on November 5. In the national vote, Trump received 51% of the vote, while the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris received 47.4%. Later, the politician, speaking to supporters, called himself the 47th President of the United States and said that his goal as head of state considers the end of military conflicts in the world.
