In the Zaporizhzhya Region, soldiers of assault units of the Dnipro group of troops are practicing the tactics of rapid attacks on enemy strongholds using T-90M Breakthrough tanks at training ranges in the rear zone of the North Caucasus Military District. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on November 27.

"Now we are practicing the actions of the assault group on the T-90M "Breakthrough" tank with rushing personnel and occupation of the enemy stronghold. This is when there is direct contact with the enemy in open terrain, when the enemy is at a distance of visual visibility, a rapid attack, the enemy is in panic, either running or trying to take cover and surrender," the regiment's deputy commander said.

He said that the main task is to create an element of surprise and to carry out decisive actions.Also, the deputy commander pointed out the peculiarities of the tactics of rapid attack.

"When an assault team advances on a tank, during the advance, the tank inflicts a direct fire attack on the enemy, in cooperation with other firepower such as a mortar. Because of this, the enemy cannot engage the tank with a hand-held anti-tank grenade launcher (RPG) or other anti-tank firepower. The tank drives up to the enemy's front line unhindered, unloads the assault infantry and drives back to the area," he commented.

Earlier, on November 20, a mortar crew of paratroopers of the Dnipro group of troops destroyed an observation point of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the right bank of the Dnieper River in the Zaporizhzhya region near Energodar. To destroy the enemy's point, the members of the Dnipro group of troops used a 120-millimeter mortar.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
