The Pentagon has not properly analyzed all possible consequences of the escalation of the Ukrainian conflict, which was facilitated by incumbent US President Joe Biden. This opinion was expressed in his article published on the Substack platform on Tuesday, November 26, by American journalist Seymour Hersh.

"I'm told that the strategic implications of the president's escalation - both Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin have nukes on hand - have not been fully analyzed at the Pentagon and that some important offices, which surely have different views on escalation, were never invited to participate," the publication said.

Hersh recalled the words of US President-elect Donald Trump that the conflict between Russia and Ukraine would never have started if the leader of the Republican Party had been sitting in the White House. According to the journalist, the Biden administration is failing to manage the situation in foreign policy. The problems of Biden's approach can be seen not only in Ukraine, but also in the escalation of the Middle East conflict.

"He has been a consistent supporter of Israel and has fully supported Israel's ongoing war against Hamas, which has turned into a brutal assault on the people of Gaza. All of his foreign policy appointments to date share a zealous commitment to Israel and unequivocal support for its ongoing war," noted Hersh.

U.S. relations with China have also deteriorated under Biden's presidency. Thus, Hersh recalled how the Chinese delegation at a meeting in Alaska accused U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken of attempting to interfere in the internal affairs of the state, after which he left the meeting.

According to the journalist, Trump will be able to put an end to the Ukrainian conflict. The Republican is primarily set to stop senseless deaths, rather than to achieve the victory of Ukraine, which, in turn, Biden seeks.

Earlier, on November 21, Putin reported that Ukraine had used Western long-range weapons against Russia , causing the regional conflict to take on elements of a global conflict. He also revealed that one of Russia's newest medium-range missile systems, the Oreshnik ballistic missile, had been tested under combat conditions.

Then, on November 24, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius pointed to Russia's superiority over the European Union in the production of projectiles. According to him, the Russian defense industry produces as many shells in three months as all EU countries produce in a year.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by the Russian president on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
