The transition team of US President-elect Donald Trump has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Joe Biden administration to prepare for Trump's inauguration. This was reported by Reuters on November 26.

"This agreement allows those who have been nominated for cabinet positions to begin critical preparations, including sending [Trump's] team to every department and agency and completing an orderly transition of power," commented Susan Wiles, White House chief of staff under the Trump administration.

US President-elect Donald Trump will take office on January 20.

On the eve it became known that Joe Biden and the first lady of the country Jill Biden will take part in the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump in January.

Earlier, on November 13, Trump arrived at the White House for a meeting with Biden on the transfer of power. The politicians met in the Oval Office where they discussed foreign and domestic policy.

Before that, on November 6, Biden called Trump and congratulated him on his election to the presidency. In the conversation, the incumbent invited the Republican to a meeting at the White House and promised a smooth transition of power.

On the same day, the Democratic candidate, incumbent U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris also called the winner of the election to congratulate him. The next day she made a speech and said that the supporters of the Democrats are obliged to recognize the results of the election.

The election for the 47th president of the United States was held on November 5. In the popular vote, Trump received 51% of the vote, while the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris received 47.4%. Later, the politician, speaking to supporters, called himself the 47th President of the United States and said that his goal as head of state considers the end of military conflicts in the world. The Republican promised that his rule would be a "truly golden era" in the history of the United States.
