Bloomberg reported on the possible appointment of Hassett to head the U.S. economic council

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump is likely to select Kevin Hassett as head of the White House National Economic Council, who will oversee the new administration's agenda for taxes, trade and spending. This was reported by Bloomberg news agency on November 26.

Kevin Hassett was a senior adviser to Trump during his first presidential term. This body advises the President on both domestic and international economic policy, the publication notes.

Bloomberg reports that under Trump, the official supported the policy of imposing additional customs tariffs. Moreover, in the new post, Hassett will have to work closely with the US Treasury Secretary. For this position, Trump previously nominated Scott Bessent.

Before that, on November 23, Trump proposed the candidacy of former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi for the post of US Justice Secretary. The president-elect also noted Bondi's work to stop drug trafficking and reduce the number of drug-related deaths.

On Nov. 20, Trump nominated former acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker to be the U.S. permanent representative to NATO. He called Whitaker a strong warrior and dedicated patriot and said he would "put America first."

On the same day, Trump proposed nominating Linda McMahon, who led the U.S. Small Business Administration during Trump's first term in office, as the nation's Secretary of Education. McMahon could have headed the U.S. Department of Commerce, but investor and billionaire Howard Lutnick was nominated for the post.

The election for the 47th president of the United States took place on November 5. In the national vote, Trump received 51% of the vote, while the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris received 47.4%. Later, the politician, speaking to supporters, called himself the 47th President of the United States and said that his goal as head of state considers the end of military conflicts in the world.
