Orbán made a positive outlook for 2025, provided there is peace in Ukraine
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on November 26 that next year 2025 will be fantastic if the Ukrainian crisis can be resolved.
"If 2025 is the year of peace, it will be a fantastic year! We are ready," Orban wrote in the social network Facebook (owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia).
The Hungarian Prime Minister also emphasized that the victory of US President-elect Donald Trump brought peace in Ukraine "seven miles closer."
At the same time, "Gazeta.Ru" noted the statement of Nikolai Topornin, associate professor of the Department of European Law at MGIMO and director of the Center for European Information, who called Orban Trump's main ally in the European Union (EU) during his second term. The expert emphasized that Budapest is not alone now, "the whole of America" is with him.
Earlier, on November 22, the Hungarian prime minister called the next months the most dangerous, as the administration of current US President Joe Biden wants to worsen the conflict in Ukraine.
Orban also drew attention to the seriousness of Russian President Vladimir Putin 's statement about the test of the Oreshnik missile, emphasizing the difference between the rhetoric of Western countries, where there are only words, and Russia, which confirms everything with real actions.
Prior to that, The Washington Post (WP) reported that the current US president approved the supply of anti-personnel mines to Ukraine to "deter the advance of Russian troops." WP recalled that in 2022 he renewed the ban on the use of such mines, effectively reversing the decision of his predecessor Donald Trump.
The special operation to protect Donbass, which began on February 24, 2022, is ongoing. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
