Netanyahu to put Lebanon ceasefire plan on the table for approval

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that today he will submit for government approval a draft plan for a ceasefire in Lebanon. This was reported by the Israeli portal Ynet on November 26.
The politician added that Israel will attack if the Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah violates the truce.
"If Hezbollah violates the agreement and tries to arm itself, we will attack. If it launches a rocket, if it digs a tunnel, if it brings a truckload of rockets, we will attack. We will respond strongly to every violation," he said.
The ceasefire agreement will take effect tomorrow at 10:00 am local time (11:00 am Moscow time), after the Lebanese government also approved it.
Earlier, on November 25, it was reported that Israel's prime minister had tentatively approved a possible agreement that seeks a ceasefire between the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Lebanon's Shiite Hezbollah movement.
Prior to that, on November 24, it was reported that IDF strikes killed 84 people and injured more than 200 in Lebanon.
Meanwhile, on the same day, the IDF claimed 30 rockets fired from Lebanon into Israel.
In early November, Lebanon's acting Prime Minister Najib Mikati called the renewed attacks a rejection of Israel's peace initiative. He emphasized that Israel's repeated threats "confirm the disregard for all efforts made to secure a ceasefire."
The escalation of hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah came after the events of September 17 and 18, when thousands of people, including employees of the movement, were injured when pagers and other communication devices exploded in Lebanon. The country blamed Tel Aviv for what happened. Since then, Israel has continued to eliminate the leadership of the Shiite movement and strike Lebanese territory.
The situation in the Middle East escalated on the morning of October 7, 2023, when the Palestinian radical movement Hamas subjected the territory of Israel to a massive rocket attack from the Gaza Strip. On the same day, Israel began retaliatory strikes.
