Two Kazan residents were charged with a 25-year-old murder

Investigators in Tatarstan managed to solve the murder of a businessman, which took place 25 years ago, after which two residents of Kazan were officially charged with the crime. This is reported on November 26 by the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation in the republic.

It is noted that the murder took place in Kazan in the winter of 1999. It was found that a year before, two men, not wanting to give a local businessman $8.5 thousand for the car bought from him, decided to kill him.

"To do this, they turned to one of the leaders of the criminal group "Khadi Taktash" who, for a reward of $3,000, attracted another member of the group to commit the murder. January 28, 1999, the businessman was shot dead on Serov Street," - stated in the Telegram-channel of the department.

To establish those involved in the crime in hot pursuit failed. Only in 2024, as a result of work on the investigation of crimes of past years, the identity of the criminals were established. The men were detained with the cooperation of employees of the IC, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the FSB. They are taken into custody.

Before that, on November 13, law enforcers in Crimea also solved the murder of a businessman committed in February 1999. According to the source of "Izvestia", the criminal case on the fact of the incident was initiated in 2014. In November 2024, the involvement of three citizens in the crime was established. Among them, two men and one woman. The men are currently serving life sentences for murder and robbery, while the woman, who served seven years in prison for drugs and theft, is listed as dead.
