In Nizhny Novgorod region, a man who killed his grandmother received eight years in prison

In Sosnovsky district of Nizhny Novgorod region, a 27-year-old man was found guilty of murdering his 78-year-old grandmother and sentenced to eight years in prison. This was reported on November 26 by the press service of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation for the region in its Telegram-channel.

"By the court sentence the man was sentenced to eight years of imprisonment with serving in a correctional colony of strict regime", - stated in the publication.

The investigation and the court found that in January this year the convict as a result of a conflict with his relative gave her several blows with a log on the head, because of which the victim died on the spot.

Earlier, on October 3, the body of a strangled 72-year-old pensioner was found in an apartment in Severodvinsk in the Arkhangelsk region. In the course of investigative and operational actions conducted together with police officers, the 25-year-old grandson of the victim was detained on suspicion of murder.
