Interior Ministry warned of mass hacking of iPhones by scammers

The Department for the organization of the fight against the illegal use of information and communication technologies of the Russian Interior Ministry has warned of mass hacking of iPhones by fraudsters under the guise of installing applications removed from the AppStore. This was reported on November 26 by the press service of the department in Telegram-channel.

The scheme of deception is that the victim enters the iCloud data of the attacker allegedly for further installation of inaccessible applications from AppStore, for example, TikTok or bank. The service is not rendered, and fraudsters demand a huge amount of money for unlocking the phone, reports the Russian Interior Ministry.

"Never log into someone else's iCloud," the agency warned.

The project is being discussed as part of a large package of anti-fraud measures

Earlier, on November 23, an expert of the direction "Popular Front. Analytics" Alla Khrapunova told about a new way of fraud in Telegram on photos that carry malware.
