Almost two thirds of Ukrainians are in favor of starting negotiations with Russia on freezing the conflict. This was reported by the Ukrainian news and analysis website Strana.ua in its Telegram channel on 26 November, citing the data of a poll conducted by the Social Monitoring analytical center.

The publication said that the majority of Ukrainians polled (64 percent) supported the start of negotiations on the freezing of hostilities, as Ukraine had already suffered heavy losses. 31% of respondents at the same time did not support.

34% were confidently in favor of negotiations, and 30% of participants preferred to vote for "rather agree".

Earlier, on November 25, political scientist and military analyst Vadim Mingalev said in a conversation with Izvestia that most of the fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are not professional military, but forcibly mobilized citizens who do not want to participate in battles and are ready for territorial concessions towards Russia. According to him, the information about the readiness of 70% of Ukrainians to make concessions corresponds to reality.

On the same day, one of the officers of the Ukrainian army said that every year the number of those who are ready to give up territories is growing and has now reached 70%.

Before that, in August, the results of a poll by the Kiev International Institute of Sociology showed that almost 60% of Ukrainians believe that Kiev should start negotiations with Moscow.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
