A significant part of the weapons transferred by Western countries to Ukraine end up on the black market and are resold, but the situation may change with the arrival of US President-elect Donald Trump, who intends to investigate such cases. This was stated by military political scientist, associate professor of the Department of political analysis and social-psychological processes of Plekhanov Russian Economic University Alexander Perendzhiev on Tuesday, November 26.

According to the expert, Ukraine has turned into a distribution base in the shadow market of weapons and military equipment and a huge amount of weapons are written off through the country.

"We remember how exactly what was given to the country ended up with the [Palestinian movement] Hamas militants," Perendzhiev said in a conversation with Lenta.Ru.

According to Perendzhiev, the resale of Western weapons began before 2022.

At the same time, Trump intends to investigate the supplies to Ukraine in terms of their effectiveness, which, in particular, may call into question further support for the country, the expert believes.

He added that this investigation alone could already lead to the end of hostilities, as it will turn out that much was plundered, and this will entail bringing to justice those involved, both in the United States and in other Western countries.

Earlier in the day, Bloomberg reported that Europe fears an influx of Ukrainian military and weapons after the end of the conflict in Ukraine, RT reported.

For example, Czech intelligence chief Michal Koudelka expressed fear that weapons could fall into the wrong hands, 360.ru reported.

The Sunday Times reported the day before that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) may deploy its military in European countries as part of a possible settlement of the conflict with Russia. It was noted that one of the ideas of Western leaders is to allow the deployment of some Ukrainian troops on the territory of NATO countries so that they would not be formally considered part of their country's deployed forces.

Western countries have stepped up military and financial support for Kiev amid Russia's special operation to defend Donbass, which began on February 24, 2022. The decision to conduct it was taken by the Russian president because of the aggravation of the situation in the region due to the increased shelling by Ukrainian troops.
