The flowering season of Japanese camellias has begun in the greenhouses of the Peter the Great Botanical Garden in St. Petersburg. About it on Tuesday, November 26, reports the press service of the institution.

Different varieties of camellias will replace each other for two months. According to the TV channel "78", you can admire the luxurious flowers on the Subtropical route.

Japanese camellia blossoms in the cold season, when other plants "sleep". This makes it a particularly valuable ornament for gardens. The plant's leaves are glossy and evergreen, while the flowers range from white to bright red, often with exquisite patterns.

In its homeland of Japan, the plant symbolizes grace and beauty. It can live for centuries, becoming a living work of art.

Earlier in November it was reported that in the "Pharmacy Garden" in Moscow bloomed poisonous "angel trumpets". The plant blooms for a short time, so those wishing to see it should not delay a visit to the greenhouse.
