Patrushev discussed at a meeting with Kovalchuk the tasks of the Maritime Collegium council

Nikolai Patrushev, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation and Chairman of the Marine Board, met with Mikhail Kovalchuk, President of the Kurchatov Institute National Research Center (NRC), to discuss the tasks of the Scientific Expert Council of the Marine Board. Mikhail Kovalchuk discussed the tasks of the Scientific and Expert Council of the Maritime Collegium. This was reported on November 26 in the press service of the board.

It is specified that the council will be engaged in expert study of the issues submitted by the board for consideration. Specialists from organizations and agencies involved in the maritime sphere will be involved in the work.

The Scientific and Expert Council will also interact with federal executive authorities, executive bodies of the country's constituent entities and organizations, request necessary materials and information from them. The council's duties also include the organization of temporary interdepartmental working groups.

Special attention at the meeting was paid to the work of the section of the Scientific and Expert Council "Marine Materials Science and Nuclear Power Engineering". Its work will be headed by Kovalchuk. At the same time, the meeting noted the importance of future research in the field of nuclear energy application in shipbuilding and modern approaches to the development of shipbuilding materials.

In addition, the meeting named the persons who will head other sections of the Scientific and Expert Council of the Maritime Board.

Earlier in the day it became known that Patrushev approved the regulations on the Scientific and Expert Council of the Maritime Board. It included more than 50 representatives of research institutions, educational organizations, departments and enterprises involved in the maritime sphere. The council was headed by Kovalchuk.

It became known the day before that Patrushev proposed Kovalchuk to head the Scientific and Expert Council. It was noted that the Council will have several sections in key areas, including Shipbuilding, Communications and Navigation Support for Maritime Activities, Robotic Systems, Crewless Ships and Vessels, Special Deep Sea Systems and Complexes, and International Scientific Cooperation in the Field of Maritime Activities and Development of the World Ocean.
