Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold talks with his Kazakh counterpart Kasym-Jomart Tokayev in Astana in closed and open formats, take part in two events and sign a number of documents. This was reported to journalists on Tuesday, November 26, the assistant to the head of state Yuri Ushakov.

"As for the Astana talks specifically, this will be the sixth face-to-face meeting of the heads of state this year. As it always happens, the visit will include high-level talks in a closed and extended format. There will be a discussion of the widest range of issues of bilateral cooperation in political, economic, humanitarian areas, as well as on the most pressing regional and international issues," he said.

After the talks, the leaders will participate via video link in the plenary session of the anniversary XX Forum of Interregional Cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan, which is held from November 26 to 27 in Ufa, recalled the Russian presidential aide. Then Putin and Tokayev in the same format will give a start to the work of the branch of the Kazakh National University Al-Farabi in Omsk State University named after Dostoevsky.

According to Ushakov, within the framework of the meeting of the heads of two states it is planned to sign 20 documents that cover the most important areas of bilateral cooperation. In particular, we are talking about the spheres of energy, transportation and investment, as well as a joint statement on deepening strategic partnership in the new global order.

In addition, the presidents are expected to make a statement to the media, after which Putin will take part in a state reception in Astana, Ushakov pointed out.

Russian President Vladimir Putin 's state visit to Kazakhstan will take place from November 27 to 28. The head of state will discuss with his Kazakh counterpart Kasym-Jomart Tokayev the further development of Russian-Kazakh relations. In addition, in Astana Putin will take part in a session of the Collective Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).

Earlier, on October 25, Putin drew attention to the successful development of Russian-Kazakh relations in the spirit of strategic partnership and cooperation, as well as active interaction between the two countries within the framework of multilateral associations. He expressed confidence that through their efforts the two countries will achieve further growth of bilateral ties.

In early July, Putin and Tokayev met in Astana on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit. The Russian president noted that he is in constant contact with his Kazakh counterpart, and Russia is one of the republic's main trade and economic partners. During these talks, Tokayev invited Putin to pay an official visit to Kazakhstan in November. The two leaders also held telephone talks in late August.
