Over the past day on Russian roads there were 285 road accidents, in which 23 people were killed and 330 injured. 14 dead were drivers and passengers of vehicles, as reported to "Izvestia" in the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation on November 26.

With the participation of buses on the roads of Russia 16 accidents were recorded, in which one person was killed, another 28 road users were injured. The cause of five accidents with buses were violations of traffic rules committed by their drivers. Thus, in the Leningrad region, a regular shuttle bus on a regional highway collided with two trucks standing at the right edge of the roadway due to the driver's fault. As a result of the accident, nine passengers of the bus were injured and ended up in hospital.

With the participation of minors 26 accidents were registered, as a result of which 26 young road users were injured, including seven passengers. There were no children killed. As a result of 128 road accidents, 65 of which occurred at crosswalks and 63 outside their zone of action, nine pedestrians were killed and another 124 were injured of varying severity. Among the injured were 18 child pedestrians.

The problem of driving under the influence of intoxicants is still extremely urgent, noted in the traffic police. In Chelyabinsk, a light foreign car with a drunk driver hit five pedestrians who were on the "safety island", then crashed into a road sign. The perpetrator of the accident fled the scene, but soon he was detained by police officers and concerned citizens. As a result of the accident, three pedestrians, including a one-year-old boy who was in a baby carriage accompanied by his mother, were hospitalized with injuries. Two more pedestrians were injured and sent for outpatient treatment after medical care.

Also on Monday there were seven accidents involving drunk drivers and four more accidents in which drivers refused medical examination. One person was killed in such accidents and 21 others were injured.

"During the change of seasons, we urge motorists to pay special attention to road and weather conditions. When planning long-distance trips, it is necessary to study in advance the weather forecast, the route of travel, to determine possible ways of detour or, if possible, to abandon long car trips altogether. Frequent mixed precipitation forms limit visibility and traction, so be extremely careful when driving. Reducing the speed and increasing the distance will help you avoid accidents," - said "Izvestia" deputy head of the department of propaganda of the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, police colonel Anton Belan.

Also, the State Automobile Inspectorate recommends motorists in case of a negative weather forecast to refrain from traveling until the situation on the roads improves, and in urban conditions to switch to public transport. Parents were advised to be more attentive to their children and not to let them go out alone, unsupervised. In the dark and in conditions of low visibility should be used on their and children's clothing light-reflecting elements.

Earlier in the day it was reported that in the Vladimir region on the highway M-12 "Vostok" for hidden license plates since the beginning of this year brought to responsibility about a hundred drivers. The traffic police together with the state company conducts raids, during which 96 protocols were drawn up.
