Patrushev approved the Regulations on the Scientific and Expert Council of the Maritime Collegium

Russian presidential aide and chairman of the Maritime Board Nikolai Patrushev has approved the regulations on the scientific and expert council and its composition. The press service of the board reported about it on November 26.

The council includes more than 50 representatives of research institutions, educational organizations, departments and enterprises involved in the maritime sphere. The board was headed by the president of the national research center "Kurchatov Institute" Mikhail Kovalchuk.

The purpose of the council's formation is expert study of the issues submitted for consideration by the board, preparation of proposals for the development of Russian marine science, fundamental and applied research and development related to maritime activities in the country.

It became known earlier, on November 25, that Patrushev offered Kovalchuk to head the Scientific and Expert Council. It was specified that the council will have several sections in key areas, including Shipbuilding, Communications and Navigation Support for Maritime Activities, Robotic Systems, Crewless Ships and Vessels, Special Deep Sea Systems and Complexes, and International Scientific Cooperation in the Field of Maritime Activities and Development of the World Ocean.
