The outgoing team of US President Joe Biden continues on the path of escalation. This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on November 26.

This is how he commented on the authorization of the US side to use long-range weapons against Russia.

Peskov also expressed confidence that Russian President Vladimir Putin 's theses were heard by the West.

"We have no doubt that all the theses voiced by the president were well heard by the countries of the collective West, and we still note with concern that the outgoing administration in Washington prefers to continue on the path of further escalation," he concluded at the briefing.

A day earlier, the White House confirmed that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) had authorization to use US long-range ATACMS missiles to strike Russia. Commenting on this, Russian FSB Director Alexander Bortnikov said that Biden's outgoing team will try to make the situation in Eurasia as bad as possible in order to make it difficult for the future administration to politically solve the accumulated problems.

Putin reported on Nov. 21 that Ukraine had used Western long-range weapons against the Russian state, causing the regional conflict to take on elements of a global conflict. He also said that one of Russia's newest medium-range missile systems, the Oreshnik ballistic missile, had been tested under combat conditions.

Western countries have stepped up military and financial support for Kiev amid Russia's special operation to protect Donbass, which began on February 24, 2022, after the situation in the region worsened due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
