- Lavrov pointed to NATO's discarded decency in statements about pre-emptive strikes on Russian Federation

NATO's statements about possible preemptive strikes against Russia show the true intentions of the North Atlantic Alliance. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Tuesday, November 26, at the 20th session of the Meeting of the Heads of Security and Intelligence Services of the CIS member states.
He added that the alliance countries have thrown away all decency and publicly announce their intentions.
"Just the other day, the head of NATO's military committee, Mr. [head of NATO's military committee Rob] Bauer directly stated that in order to solve the purpose of protection, defense of the North Atlantic Alliance member countries, it is necessary to preemptively hit those targets in the Russian Federation, which, according to NATO, may pose a threat to the member countries of the alliance," he said.
The foreign minister also said that the Kiev regime uses terrorist methods, cooperates with international terrorist groups and transnational crime, recruiting foreign mercenaries in the conflict against Russia and training fighters to act against legitimate governments in Africa and Syria.
The day before, Rob Bauer said that NATO is discussing the possibility of launching preemptive strikes against Russia in case of conflict with it by the alliance countries. It was specified that in case of a hypothetical attack the alliance should try to strike with high-precision means to hit launchers in the Russian Federation.
Before that, on November 12, Bauer expressed the opinion that if Russia did not have nuclear weapons, NATO would have sent its troops to Ukraine long ago.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking at a plenary session of the Valdai Club on November 7, called NATO the only remaining bloc in the world and "an outright anachronism." He noted that the alliance, which has lost its relevance, violates international norms and its own principles.
The West regularly stirs up hysteria among the citizens of its countries, warning of an allegedly imminent war with Russia. The Russian leader has repeatedly stated that nothing of the sort is in the country's plans.
