Russian Armed Forces soldier told about holding a stronghold surrounded by the AFU

A Russian Armed Forces (AF) fighter with the call sign Lotos and his squad held a stronghold surrounded by the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU). He told Izvestia about it on November 26.
Lotus led a group that held a stronghold near the village of Terny in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR). The fighters' positions were in the second echelon, and those who were "in the gray zone" were attacked by a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group (DRG).
The military officer said that he and his squad found themselves semi-encircled on the front line - eight Russian soldiers against 30 Ukrainian fighters.
"When the artillery, "polka", AGS starts working, then it's hard to raise your head. You realize that now it could hit you," he recalled.
Lotus noted that the group of servicemen, defending "without fuss and without panic", coherently repelled the attack.
"Four prisoners were taken. They were already stunned after being processed by our artillery. They didn't realize what was happening anymore and put their hands up," Lotus shared.
He shared that he felt relieved, "as if a stone had fallen from his soul."
Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry told about new feats of Russian servicemen in the zone of the special military operation. The ministry said that Private Igor Orlov detected the movement of AFU vehicles and ensured their destruction.
The Russian Defense Ministry also noted the professionalism of Lieutenant Eduard Taldykin, who defused an explosive device during an engineering reconnaissance on the way of the Russian troops' advance.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken amid an aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
