- The famous adjuster of the Great Victory Limanskaya passed away at the 101st year of life

Maria Filippovna Limanskaya, the world-famous Brandenburg Madonna, died at the age of 100. This was announced by the Governor of the Saratov region Roman Busargin on November 26.
"Maria Filippovna is a person with a difficult but bright destiny. Being an 18-year-old girl, she went to the front. At first she sewed clothes for soldiers, then she became an adjuster. Only girls were taken for this position, as men were needed on the battlefields," Busargin wrote in his Telegram channel.
Limanskaya's baptism of fire took place in the Rostov region near Bataysk. Under fire, she regulated the movement of troops at the crossing of the Don River. Moreover, she participated in the Battle of Stalingrad, the liberation of Simferopol, Belarus and Poland, and reached Berlin.
It was in Germany that the war correspondent Eugene Khaldey made the famous photo, in which a young girl at the Brandenburg Gate directs passing cars. This photo became a symbol of the indestructibility of the Soviet people.
