The Defense Ministry reported the destruction of 39 Ukrainian drones over Russian regions

Air defense forces destroyed 39 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) overnight over Russian regions. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on Tuesday, November 26.

"During the past night, 39 Ukrainian UAVs were destroyed and intercepted by on-duty air defense means during the Kiev regime's attempt to carry out a terrorist attack with the use of unmanned aerial vehicles on objects on the territory of the Russian Federation," the ministry said in a statement.

It is specified that 24 drones were intercepted over the territory of Rostov region, five - over the territory of Bryansk region, three more - over the territory of Belgorod region, three - over the territory of Kursk region, one - over the territory of Orel region, one - over the territory of Voronezh region and two - over Crimea.

Earlier, on November 25, air defense forces destroyed seven Ukrainian missiles and seven drones over the territory of Kursk Region, the region's governor Alexei Smirnov said. Also on that day, Kaluga Region Governor Vladislav Shapsha reported the destruction of eight UAVs over the region. He specified that there were no casualties as a result of the attacks.

The AFU is trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the beginning of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
