A tree collapsed in Vladivostok due to strong winds and damaged several cars, Izvestia correspondent Yevgeny Podtergera reported on September 26.

"A huge tree collapsed in the center of Vladivostok, five cars were damaged at once. The damage is serious: <...> broken glass, crumpled bodies. Restoration will be obviously expensive," Podtergera noted.

After a series of falling trees and lampposts, Vladivostok's public utilities began sanitary pruning to prevent the consequences of bad weather.

Moreover, due to gusty winds, the city authorities may stop traffic on the giant bridges if the wind speed exceeds 30 m/s. The spans are high above sea level, so cars will be blown away.

Earlier, on November 25, it was reported that housing and utilities services of Primorye were put on high alert because of the coming cyclone. More than 1 thousand units of equipment have been deployed, reagents for roads have been prepared. In addition, energy companies and rescue services have increased their readiness.

November 25, scientific head of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand said that more than 15 regions of Russia this week are expected dangerous weather phenomena, such as storm winds, heavy precipitation and ice. The most difficult weather at the beginning of the week will be in Murmansk region and Primorsky Krai, where heavy snow, sleet, snowstorms, wind up to 22 m/s are forecast.
