Climatologist Arseniy Yurganov said that over the last hundred years, the average temperature of the earth's surface has increased by 1.1 degrees Celsius, which has led to the melting of glaciers, rising sea levels and changes in weather conditions.

In a conversation with RuNews24.Ru on Monday, November 25, the expert emphasized that the main cause of global warming is human activity: deforestation, burning fossil fuels. All this and other anthropogenic factors contribute to an increase in the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.

Yurganov noted that global warming can lead not only to melting glaciers and rising sea levels, but also to flooding of coastal areas and disruption of ecosystems, more frequent and intense extreme weather events - droughts, floods and hurricanes, RT writes.

"Certainly, rising air temperatures can lead to an increase in the number of human diseases associated with heat and humidity," the climatologist warned.

He added that global warming is a serious problem that requires attention and action on the part of all mankind.

The climatologist emphasized that global warming is a reality of the 21st century and it is really happening.

On November 11, Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center, compared the process of climate warming in Russia and in the world. According to him, in Russia the climate warming processes are faster than on average in the world. He noted that global warming has its spatial and temporal peculiarities. In tropical regions warming is slow, while in temperate latitudes the process is 2.5 times faster than "the globe average."

In early November, climatologist Ulf Büntgen published a defeated text in a scientific journal regarding global warming, in which he stated that the data on it is falsified, reports 360.ru. According to Büntgen, scientists falsify data and talk about abnormal temperatures, which in fact do not exist, writes the website kp.ru.
