Bloomberg has learned of EU plans to impose sanctions against 45 Russian oil tankers

The European Union (EU) within the 15th package of sanctions against Russia plans to impose restrictions against more than 45 oil tankers of the Russian Federation, more than 50 individuals and about 30 organizations are also under threat. This was reported on Tuesday, November 26, by Bloomberg news agency.
"As part of the 15th package of sanctions <...> [European Commission] proposes to list more than 50 individuals and approximately 40 organizations, freezing their assets and imposing a travel ban <...> The new set of measures, which is still subject to change, also includes a ban on entry to European ports and access to risky shipping for more than 45 Russian oil tankers," the agency's material says.
Separately, the agency mentions that it is mainly planned to impose restrictions against Russian military manufacturers, as well as against a number of Chinese firms that are related to the military-industrial complex (MIC) of Russia.
Earlier, on November 18, the Council of the European Union (EU) blacklisted three Russian shipping companies - MG Flot, VTS Broker and Arapax, as well as Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (IRISL) and its director Mohammad Reza. The EU cited Tehran's alleged support of Moscow for the special operation as the reason. The next day Britain imposed sanctions against the All-Russian children's and youth movement "Junarmia" and the center of military-patriotic education "Avangard".
On October 14, European Parliament member Lebos Blaga said in an interview with Izvestia that sanctions against Russia mean a long-term prospect of economic suicide in Europe.
Western countries increased sanctions pressure on Russia after the start of the special operation to protect civilians in Donbass, which was announced on February 24, 2022.
