A fire broke out in Japan while testing the engine of the Epsilon S rocket


During engine testing of the Japanese rocket Epsilon S there was a fire. This was reported on November 26 by NHK TV channel.
The incident occurred at the spaceport Tanegashima (Kagoshima prefecture). There are no casualties as a result of the fire.
Japanese solid rocket three-stage rocket Epsilon series was developed by the Japan Aerospace Agency (JAXA) in cooperation with the aircraft corporation IHI. Rockets of this type have been used in Japan since 2013 to launch small satellites.
Earlier, on November 16, it became known about the intention of the United States, South Korea and Japan to strengthen their missile defense capabilities, as well as the expansion of trilateral cooperation.
Before that, on November 4, the US and South Korea concluded a preliminary agreement on nuclear cooperation. The two countries reportedly strengthened the administration of export controls on civilian nuclear technology.
