An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) of the 5th separate motorized rifle brigade of the Southern grouping of troops has hit an anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) position and an observation point of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Kurakhov direction in the zone of the special military operation. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on November 26.

After drone operators discovered the Stugna ATGM position and the AFU's dome surveillance and reconnaissance camera in the attic of a damaged high-rise building, pinpoint strikes were carried out on the targets using kamikaze drones.

Active use of reconnaissance and strike drones, including FPV drones, makes it possible to save the lives of servicemen of assault and reconnaissance units that operate in close proximity to the enemy.

The real-time information received from the drones assists the advancement of assault units and the correction of artillery fire.

Earlier, on November 23, air defense units of the "South" group of troops destroyed a Ukrainian hexacopter "Baba Yaga" in the skies above the DNR. The Russian Defense Ministry noted that the mobile UAV units of the 23rd OZRD have more than a dozen destroyed heavy drones of the AFU on their account.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
