U.S. poll participants said they were afraid and devastated by Trump's election


Supporters and opponents of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump have expressed fears that he may start persecuting political opponents after taking office. This is reported on Monday, November 25, the publication Gallup.
The vast majority of Republicans and independent voters with Republican views describe their reaction to Donald Trump's victory as optimistic (86%), relieved (85%) or encouraged (76%).
In contrast, majorities of Democrats and Democratic-leaning independent voters report feeling fearful (76%), angry (68%) and devastated (61%) about the election results. Democrats are more than twice as likely as Republicans to say they are surprised by the election results (59% vs. 27%, respectively).
More than nine in 10 Americans say they would accept Trump as a legitimate president, including 99% of Republicans and Republican supporters and 84% of Democrats and Democratic supporters.
Earlier on Nov. 11, Politico reported that U.S. Justice Department officials fear retaliation against Trump after criminal charges were filed against him. The agency fears that Trump will want to transform the Ministry in accordance with his representations.
