Fraudsters can sue a car from a buyer with the help of a fictitious sale and purchase agreement (PPA) with deferred payment. This was reported to "Gazeta.Ru" on November 26 by the head of the expert center "Avtokriminalist" Maxim Shelkov.

"Two fraudsters sign between themselves a fictitious contractual agreement with deferred payment. According to this document, one of them puts the car on himself on the registration and resells it to the final buyer, from whom the car is then seized by court order," Shelkov said about the fraudulent scheme.

One of the attackers sues the second and demands to terminate the contractual agreement with a delay, as the money is not paid, and the car is resold to the victim. The defendant - the fraudster does not deny his guilt, the court is forced to side with the plaintiff and terminate the contract between the accomplices. By law, the owner who paid the second swindler is required to return the car.

Thus, the first swindler seizes the car from the victim by court. The swindlers divide the money received from the buyer by the second attacker.

Shelkov warns that "the final owner can then demand reimbursement from the swindler from whom he bought the car. But no property is recorded on this person, and nothing can be obtained from him even through bankruptcy proceedings."

Earlier, on November 12, 18 fraudsters were detained in Moscow, who carried out a series of scams in the field of car loans. In 2021-2022, these miscreants received car loans, providing banks with false documents on income and work. After receiving the money, they bought expensive cars and resold them, but did not repay the loans. The criminal group is suspected of more than 20 crimes, the amount of damage exceeded 100 million rubles.
