Russians will prefer surprises to ordered gifts on New Year's Eve


More than a third of Russians (38%) want to receive a New Year's gift from their partner as a surprise, while 25% would prefer a hint, Gazeta.Ru reported on November 26.
Men want to receive a New Year's surprise more than an ordered gift (44 and 20% respectively). Among women, supporters of surprises and specific gifts are approximately equal (30% of Russian women will hint at the desired, 32% - waiting for a surprise).
In order not to upset a loved one, it is necessary to listen to his wishes. This follows from the survey: 36% of women and 34% of men will not be happy with the surprise if they indicated a certain gift. Receiving a pre-specified New Year's gift, men and women are happier.
Those who expect a surprise on New Year's Eve, mostly will be happy about it: 87% of men and 89% of women who prefer unexpected gifts think so.
Earlier, November 26, it was reported that New Year's tours have become almost a third more expensive for Russians. Thus, according to the service, to travel to Egypt for the New Year holidays in 2024 spend 31.4% more - an average of 275.1 thousand rubles, to Abkhazia by 31% - an average of 71.2 thousand rubles, to Sri Lanka by 21.8% - 474.5 thousand rubles.
