Ilon Musk criticized the Pentagon bureaucracy with an example of staircase repairs

Repair of the stairs in the Pentagon lasts longer than the construction of the building itself. On November 25, American entrepreneur Ilon Musk said on the X network (formerly Twitter).
"In a meeting with senior military officers today, I was told that it now takes longer to repair the staircases in the Pentagon (24 months) than it did to build the entire Pentagon (16 months) in the 1940s!" - he wrote.
Musk thus commented on businessman Vivek Ramaswamy's post that cutting bureaucracy would reduce the federal budget deficit, but the real win would be its effect in promoting further growth.
On this day, Musk announced the design failure of the U.S. F-35 fighter jets. According to Musk, the fighter jet has become "master of expensive and complicated" and yet "master of nothing." The entrepreneur emphasized that there was no chance of success.
US President-elect Donald Trump announced that American entrepreneurs Ilon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy will head the new US government efficiency department on November 13. The department will end no later than July 4, 2026.
Earlier in the day, Musk announced plans to reform the US state apparatus and cut the country's spending. He noted that DOGE will focus on identifying "thousands" of regulations that Trump will have to repeal.
On Nov. 18, Vivek Ramaswamy said DOGE would cut government spending and close some agencies. According to him, American citizens should be surprised by the speed of such measures.
The election for the 47th president of the United States was held on November 5. In the national vote, Trump received 51% of the vote, while the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris received 47.4%. Later, the politician, speaking to supporters, called himself the 47th President of the United States and said that his goal as head of state considers the end of military conflicts in the world.
