White House confirms Joe Biden's presence at Donald Trump's inauguration

Current US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden will attend the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump in January. This was announced on Monday, November 25, by senior deputy White House press secretary Andrew Bates.
"The president has promised that he will attend the inauguration of whoever wins the election. He and the first lady are going to honor that promise and attend the inauguration," Bates was quoted by Reuters as saying.
Earlier on Nov. 13, Trump arrived at the White House for a power transition meeting with Biden. The politicians met in the Oval Office, where they discussed foreign and domestic policy.
Before that, on November 6, Biden called Trump and congratulated him on his election to the presidency. In the conversation, the incumbent invited the Republican to a meeting at the White House and promised a smooth transition of power.
On the same day, the Democratic candidate, incumbent U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris also called the winner of the election to congratulate him. The next day she made a speech and said that the supporters of the Democrats are obliged to recognize the results of the election.
The election for the 47th president of the United States was held on November 5. In the national vote, Trump received 51% of the vote, while the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris received 47.4%. Later, the politician, speaking to supporters, called himself the 47th President of the United States and said that his goal as head of state considers the end of military conflicts in the world. The Republican promised that his rule would be a "truly golden era" in the history of the United States.
