Neuralink has begun development of a mind-controlled robotic arm

American billionaire Ilon Musk's company Neuralink, which develops the brain-computer interface, said that it is beginning to test the technology that allows paralyzed people to control a robotic arm. Bloomberg reported on Nov. 25.
"This is an important first step toward restoring not only digital freedom, but also physical freedom," the company said in a post on social networking site X, noting that the trial is called Convoy.
The goal of the trial is to allow patients with the Neuralink implant to control a robotic arm.
At the moment, the device allows its wearers to control a computer cursor and other similar digital tools with the power of thought.
Earlier, on September 18, it became known that the new implant from the company Neuralink will allow people blind from birth to see in the case if the visual cortex is not damaged.
