Nearly 10 million parcels in Canada have not reached their recipients due to the ongoing boycott of Canada Post mailers. CityNews reported Nov. 25.

"We have lost almost 10 million packages since the strike began, and that number is only going to grow as the strike continues and people look for other places to get their packages. The impact continues to be felt across the country, hitting small businesses, charitable organizations and remote communities hardest," said a Canada Post spokesperson.

Company officials have proposed an 11.5% pay raise for postal workers over four years and additional paid vacation, but the postal workers' union has called for a 24% pay increase over the same period. The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) also wants full-time workers to deliver packages on weekends when Canada Post has proposed hiring more part-time employees.

Earlier, on Oct. 6, Izvestia reported on new mail fraud schemes. Attackers pretend to be employees of Russian Post and, under the pretext of sending a letter, ask for a confirmation code from an SMS message, which actually contains a password to restore access to an account on Gosusluga.
