Moscow's largest skating rink opened at VDNKh


The skating rink with the area of more than 20 thousand square meters has started working at VDNKh - it is the largest skating rink in Moscow, said Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina.
"The skating rink can accommodate almost 5 thousand people at a time. Skating paths run along the Main Alley, around the fountains "Friendship of Peoples" and "Stone Flower". For the comfort of visitors there are equipment rental and skate sharpening points, storage rooms, cafes with hot food and drinks, children's zone and much more", - said Sergunina.
The skating rink is open from Tuesday to Friday from 11:00 to 23:00, as well as on weekends and holidays - from 10:00 to 23:00.
This year there are open stands for spectators, so that those who wish could watch ice shows. The entrance is free.
"In total at the rink in the winter season will organize about 100 events, among them - performances of skaters, master classes, exercises with athletes, night sessions and theatrical performances," - said the Vice-Mayor.
The grand opening of the winter season at the skating rink will be held on November 29 and 30. During these days about 30 artists of ice theater under the direction of figure skater, Olympic medalist Irina Slutskaya will present the show "How Prince Falcon with Zimushka negotiated". In addition, figure skating stars will show their best numbers and give master classes.
In the recreation area there is a café and a restaurant where visitors will be offered to try dishes from different regions. The menu includes stroganina, pancakes with Tambov ham, potato waffles with cheese and chicken kupaty. As part of the "Gastronomic Map of Russia" project, chefs will hold culinary master classes.
