Servicemen of the "West" group of troops destroyed a heavy unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) "Baba Yaga" of the Ukrainian army in the special operation zone in the Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) at night. Footage of the combat operation was shared by the Russian Defense Ministry on November 25.

The target was detected using night vision equipment as it approached the positions of the Russian Armed Forces (AF). Russian servicemen immediately made a decision to make a strike on the enemy drone.

The objective control means recorded an exact hit on the Baba Yaga hexacopter. Also, as a result of the UAV hitting the ground, its warhead detonated.

On November 23, the Defense Ministry reported that the air defense units of the "South" group of troops destroyed the Ukrainian hexacopter "Baba-Yaga" in the skies above the DNR. It is noted that attacks with such equipment usually take place at night, because drones are easy to spot during the day. Observation of the sky is one of the main tasks of anti-aircraft units.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
