As part of a mixed tactical group, the crew of an Army aviation Mi-28NM helicopter destroyed a stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the border area of Kursk Region. Footage of the combat operation was shared by the Russian Defense Ministry on November 25.

The strike was carried out by a guided missile according to the coordinates of an aviation gunner during a combat mission to support ground forces units. Subsequently, the advanced aviation spotter confirmed that the Ukrainian army stronghold had been eliminated.

After the strike, the Mi-28NM helicopter crew performed an anti-missile maneuver at low altitude and released heat traps that prevent enemy man-portable surface-to-air missiles (MANPADS).

The previous day, an Army aviation crew on an Mi-28NM helicopter in a mixed tactical group eliminated AFU manpower and a stronghold in the border area of Kursk Region. The forward gunner reported the successful destruction of the target as a result of a missile launch.

The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
