Court rejects appeal against arrest of defendant in Dolina apartment fraud case

Moscow City Court rejected the appeal against the arrest of Dmitri Leontiev, a defendant in the case of multimillion-dollar fraud with the apartment of singer Larisa Dolina. This was reported to "Izvestia" on November 25 by the press service of the instance.
Tagansky district court of Moscow sent 43-year-old previously repeatedly convicted resident of Yoshkar-Ola Leontiev into custody in October. He admitted guilt during the election of a preventive measure.
According to the investigation, Leontiev carried out communication between the members of the gang of fraudsters, informed the accomplices of the data on the bank cards under his control, on which he received the stolen money, and then cashed them and transferred them to the members of the gang.
In early July, the man received more than 3.1 million rubles from the artist, cashed them out, and then distributed them between himself and his accomplices.
On August 13, Dolina stated that she had fallen victim to fraudsters. Attackers persuaded her to sell an apartment in the center of Moscow, and the money received to transfer to a supposedly safe account. A criminal case has been opened, the real estate has been seized.
Angela Tsyrulnikova, 53, through whom Dolina transferred part of the funds to the fraudsters, has been arrested. The second defendant - Leontiev - was detained on October 22. Later, on November 21, the third figure was detained - 27-year-old previously convicted resident of Tatarstan.
The new owner of the apartment was a 34-year-old single mother Polina Lurie. In late August, Dolina sued her, and on September 3, Lurie filed a counterclaim.
