Munyai Linton, an ecologist from the Republic of South Africa (RSA), and Renin Hu, a scientist from Peking University, told Izvestia on November 25 about the importance of the IX BRICS Young Scientists Forum on the platform of the Congress of Young Scientists in Sirius.

"The BRICS forum is very important for us: there is an opportunity to get acquainted with the developments of colleagues from other BRICS member countries, to learn what scientists from other universities are doing, to try to establish cooperation with researchers from different institutions. So we hope to learn a lot of new things at this forum," Linton said.

The South African specialist specified that he came from the University of Kumalanga. His field of research is ecological sciences, in particular ecology in the hydrosphere, i.e. preservation of biodiversity in aquatic systems.

For her part, Renin Hu said that she works at Peking University in the field of digital humanities. Her research involves using large language models to study ancient languages, particularly classical Chinese.

"I am very happy to come here and participate in the forum <...> Through participating in this forum, I hope to establish cooperation with young scholars from other countries. We all know that BRICS countries have a long history and we can cooperate in using advanced technologies to analyze the languages of different countries and exchange ideas about their cultural communication," she concluded.

Earlier, on November 5, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia has a serious task in BRICS to integrate new members. The head of state noted that BRICS cooperation, which is built on the basis of mutual respect and consideration of the interests of each party, brings them concrete, tangible results, and this can be felt in practice.
