Military expert spoke about the fate of AFU fighters leaving their positions

The fate of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) fighters who leave their positions is rather difficult. Retired military expert Colonel Anatoliy Matviychuk said this on Monday, 25 November. He noted that many of them are being "hunted" and sent back to the front after indoctrination.
According to the expert, there are still units engaged in active combat operations.
"The situation is different with those who were caught by territorial manning centers (TCC). They see no motivation, realize that they have been abandoned, and quickly abandon their positions and leave," the colonel said in a conversation with Lenta.Ru.
Matviychuk added that a similar situation is observed in Velyka Novoselka, where the enemy came under heavy fire. There are also problems with logistics, supply of weapons, food and medical supplies in the area. Unmotivated servicemen are leaving their positions and withdrawing.
"Many of those who abandon positions are then captured and returned to the front. Some leave and do not return - a real hunt is opened for them. Many try to escape to Europe, less often to Russia," Matviychuk said.
He added that Ukraine has adopted a rather "liberal law+": when a person leaves a position for the first time, there is no criminal liability, he is indoctrinated and then sent back to the front.
Earlier in the day, the Chairman of the Commission of the Public Chamber of Russia on sovereignty issues, co-chairman of the coordination Council for the integration of new regions Vladimir Rogov said that Russian troops knocked out the AFU from the village of Berestki, located on the bank of the Kurakhovskoye reservoir in the DNR, reports NSN.
On November 19, Ukraine 's ambassador to London and former commander-in-chief of its army Valeriy Zaluzhny told Ukrainian military personnel training in the UK that they have little chance of surviving on the battlefield, RT reported.
Western countries have stepped up military and financial support for Kiev amid Russia's special operation to protect Donbass, which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, after the situation in the region worsened due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
