The State Duma reacted to reports of an ATACMS missile strike on the Kursk region

The strike by the Russian medium-range ballistic missile Oreshnik has significantly affected Kiev's actions, but sporadic strikes by US ATACMS ballistic missiles by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are possible in the near future. This is how Russian State Duma deputy Alexei Chepa reacted on Monday, November 25, to reports of an attack by U.S. missiles on the Kursk region.
He noted that it is unknown how many strikes on Russian territory were planned by American missiles and what the next targets were to be.
"So don't think that "Oreshnik" had no effect on the actions of the AFU - this event caused a big stir in Kiev, a lot of people thought about what was happening," the politician said in a conversation with Lenta.Ru.
At the same time, the parliamentarian noted that the military and political situation in Ukraine remained extremely complicated. There realize that the administration of US President Joe Biden is making the last steps in support of the conflict before the transfer of power to the new head of state Donald Trump.
"They are, on the one hand, happy about Biden's actions, on the other hand, they realize that these are the finishing touches. So Kiev's agony will continue for some time, it can't be stopped so quickly. For some time we can expect new missile strikes on Russian territory," Chepa concluded.
Earlier in the day, the media reported that the AFU used ATACMS on the night of November 25 to attack the Kursk region. Including the target of Ukrainian forces was the nuclear power plant in Kurchatov, writes RIAMO.
Earlier, on November 20, American journalist, lawyer and writer Glenn Greenwald in a conversation with journalist Tucker Carlson pointed out that Biden's decision to use the US ATACMS system by the Ukrainian Armed Forces could lead to his impeachment because it involves the country in the Ukrainian conflict.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on November 21 that Ukraine had used Western long-range weapons against the Russian state, causing the regional conflict to acquire elements of a global one, RT reported. He also said that one of Russia's newest medium-range missile systems, the Oreshnik ballistic missile, had been tested under combat conditions, 360.ru reported.
The strike was carried out at the Yuzhmash plant in Dnepropetrovsk. Denis Pushilin, head of the Donetsk People's Republic, called the launch a fair response to Kiev's aggression against peaceful Russian cities.
The special operation to protect Donbass, which began on February 24, 2022, is ongoing. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
