- The last request of the pilot of the DHL plane that went down near Vilnius has been revealed

Before the crash of a Boeing 737 cargo plane of the DHL mail company in Vilnius, the crew requested information about weather conditions from the dispatcher of the capital's airport. This was reported on November 25 by the portal Delfi with reference to the recording of the dialog, which was published on YouTube Naglis Andreiunas.
According to the conversation, the pilot asked about weather conditions and the possibility to receive ILS (Instrument Landing System) instructions in case of poor visibility.
The recording shows that the center first said the plane could descend to an altitude of up to 4,000 feet (about 1.2 km). The dispatcher then confirmed the ILS capability and allowed it to descend to 2.7 feet (800 m).
The dispatcher reported wind parameters and gave permission to land, but communication with the pilots was soon lost.
A DHL airplane crashed in Vilnius earlier in the day. It went down near a two-story apartment building at 05:31 (06:31 Moscow time). It was specified that there were four people on board - two pilots and two employees.
Later it became known that the cause of the crash is being investigated as "caused by technical failures". Then the head of the National Crisis Management Center (NCMC) Vilmantas Vitkauskas said that one crew member was found dead, two were rescued and taken to hospital.
