A large oil refinery is being prepared for launch in Crimea. The republic's authorities expect that due to the processing of raw materials and production of products on the territory of the peninsula, logistics costs will be reduced and production costs will decrease.

The first stage of the plant was launched in February 2023, and in October a line for the production of fuel pellets started working. It is planned that the enterprise will produce more than 9 thousand tons of sunflower oil per year. Investments in production amounted to 60 million rubles.

According to the head of the republic Sergey Aksyonov, quoted by SevastopolMedia IA, the growth in the production of goods is an important indicator of the economic development of Crimea. The enterprise will supply products not only within the republic, but also to other Russian regions.

Earlier, on November 15, it was reported that the head of the parliament of the republic, Vladimir Konstantinov, offered Ilon Musk to invest in Crimea. According to Konstantinov, it is profitable to invest in Russia, because there are resources that are limited on planet Earth. Musk, in turn, has technology and science. Based on these arguments, a "good bundle" may turn out, the head of the Crimean parliament said.
