Popular vacation destinations for Russians are named

In Russia this autumn, the most frequent destinations for Russians traveling in Russia were Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi, and abroad - Istanbul, Dubai, and Minsk. This follows from the data of the travel planning service OneTwoTrip, which were reviewed by Izvestia on November 25.

According to experts, the share of hotel bookings in Russia amounted to 74% and it has not changed much over the year. Tourists booked a hotel room for an average of 7.5 thousand rubles per day, over the year began to choose more expensive options: the price in the fall of 2024 is 15% more than in 2023. Moscow is the most popular city: it accounted for 22.7% of bookings. The second place was taken by St. Petersburg with a share of 12.9%. The popularity of these cities decreased by 10% compared to last fall. Closing the top three is Sochi, where 7.7% of travelers vacationed, which is 14% less than in 2023. In addition, travelers often visited Kazan (share - 2.8%), Yekaterinburg (2.5%), Krasnodar (2.0%), Kaliningrad (1.9%), Nizhny Novgorod (1.8%), Rostov-on-Don (1.6%) and Novosibirsk (1.5%).

The service also reported that it was possible to book a room in a foreign hotel this fall for about Br17 thousand. Over the year, the average cost of a booked night has increased by 12%.

The most popular city was Istanbul: it accounted for 8.6% of hotel bookings, which is 21% less than last fall. Next are Dubai, where 5.4% of tourists vacationed (interest in the city has not changed), and Minsk with a share of 3.8% (-17% for the year). In addition, Tbilisi (share - 3.0%), Yerevan (2.7%), Shanghai (2.3%), Tashkent (2.1%), Alma-Ata (1.9%), Bangkok (1.8%) and Paris (1.7%) were in the top.

Earlier, November 20, an expert of the Russian Union of Travel Industry on travel aggregators Valery Britaus during a press conference in the MICE "Izvestia" said that the most popular countries for Russians for New Year holidays were the Russian Federation, Georgia and Morocco. He noted that closer to the New Year the demand for traveling in Russia will grow. Brithaus also warned that it is not worth booking tours on January 2-3, as there may not be enough hotel rooms.
