The GD told about the large number of appeals about the load of schoolchildren

The State Duma (Duma) receives many appeals from parents because of excessive workload of schoolchildren. This was reported by Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin in his Telegram channel on November 25.
He noted that on average schoolchildren spend eight to ten hours a day on study, and this, according to parents, is excessive.
Among the factors affecting the load, Volodin singled out the constant complication of the curriculum, overloaded schedule, attendance of electives, additional education, complex homework, preparation for tests and USE.
"According to experts, 70-80% of children note deviations from the learning process. All this depends on their health," - pointed out the Chairman of the State Duma, adding that with such employment the child has almost no time and energy for hobbies and lively communication with friends.
Earlier, on November 20, Volodin during the plenary session instructed the Committee on Education to organize a discussion of the high workload in Russian schools. It is noted that the load on high school students exceeds sanitary and epidemic norms by 30%. According to Volodin, this affects the condition of children and at the same time "nothing good."
Before that, on November 19, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that improving the quality of education in the country and reducing the load on teachers remain among the main tasks. He also pointed to the readiness of a comprehensive action plan to improve the quality of education in exact sciences and science subjects in all schools in the country, as well as the level of teacher training and the elimination of staff shortages.
