The Russian Government has not supported the draft law proposing to enshrine in the Labor Code the right of an employer to deprive an employee of a bonus. This became known on November 25 from the official response of the federal body.

The bill, developed by the LDPR, implies under deprecation non-payment or reduction of the incentive part of the salary, and deprive the employee of a bonus can only be deprived if there is a reason established in the contract or local normative act in accordance with labor law, and the monthly salary should not be reduced by more than 20%.

"The Government of the Russian Federation does not support the bill," the document, which is at the disposal of TASS, said.

It is specified that the government considers the provisions of the bill to be contrary to the position of the Russian Constitutional Court.

"Arbitrary cancellation or reduction of incentive payments without changing the terms of the labor contract is not allowed, and the employee may not be accrued or accrued not in full only the bonus, but not other incentive payments," the government stressed, adding that the adoption of the federal law may entail the deterioration of labor rights of employees.

Earlier, on November 10, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law on additional payments to people who perform the role of mentors at enterprises. Thanks to amendments to the Labor Code, employees who perform this role will be provided with additional payments. The amounts of additional payments will be established by various laws, regulations and internal documents of organizations.
