A hunter mistakenly shot a woman in the forest in the Novosibirsk region. This was reported on November 25 in the prosecutor's office of the region.

As indicated in the agency, the 29-year-old suspect was hunting in the forest at a distance of about 2 km from the town of Barabinsk in the Novosibirsk region. According to the investigation, having noticed movement in the bushes, he shot at least twice in their direction. However, it turned out that at that time there were people standing there. The wounded 44-year-old woman died in the hospital.

"The investigator of the Investigative Committee of the IC of the Russian Federation for the Novosibirsk region opened a criminal case on causing death by negligence", - stated in the message of the department in the Telegram-channel.

Later in the IC clarified that there were two victims. The second victim received a tangential wound to the hand, his life and health is not threatened. At present, further collection of evidence is being conducted.

Earlier, on November 21, in the Irkutsk region, a hunter shot a woman who stopped on the side of the road to smoke. According to one of the defendants, they were in the forest, where they were engaged in illegal hunting. The man saw the woman in the thermal imaging camera and mistook her for an animal, after which he shot her twice. The victim died of her injuries on the spot. Law enforcement authorities are conducting an investigation into the incident.
