Air defense forces destroyed 23 Ukrainian UAVs over Russian regions


Air defense forces have destroyed 23 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) over the Russian regions overnight. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on November 25.
"During the past night during the Kiev regime's attempt to carry out a terrorist attack with the use of unmanned aerial vehicles on objects on the territory of the Russian Federation, on-duty air defense means destroyed and intercepted 23 Ukrainian UAVs of airplane type," the ministry said in a statement.
It is specified that overnight eight drones were shot down over the territory of Kaluga region, seven drones were destroyed in Kursk region, five - in Bryansk region, three - in Belgorod region.
Earlier in the day, air defense forces destroyed seven Ukrainian missiles and seven drones over the territory of the Kursk region, regional governor Alexei Smirnov said. Also on this day, Kaluga Region Governor Vladislav Shapsha reported the destruction of eight UAVs over the region. He specified that there were no casualties as a result of the attacks.
The AFU is trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the beginning of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
